The wrestling world tragically lost Jamin Pugh (Jay Briscoe) at the age of 38 in a car accident on Tuesday night.

On Wednesday, Jay’s wife Ashley gave an update on their daughters also being in the car, saying that Gracie underwent back surgery and Jayleigh had serious injuries but was stable. Jay and Ashley also have a son named Gannon.

On Thursday night, friends of the Pugh family relayed Ashley’s next update on Gracie and Jayleigh.

“At the moment the girls are stable, but they both have a very long road of recovery ahead of them. Gracie, 12, when she originally arrived in Nanticoke [hospital], she couldn’t feel anything from her waist down. She was diagnosed with an L2 dislocation and an L3 and L4 fracture in her back with compression on her spinal cord. After Nanticoke stabilized her, they transferred her to another hospital and she regained feeling in her thighs, but nothing lower than her knee. She was immediately taken for an MRI and surgery at around 3am on Wednesday morning. The doctor was able to relieve the compression on the spinal cord and the surgery went as expected. If you have a trauma to your spinal cord, it’s waiting. You have to wait with the swelling and trauma. She still has feeling in her thighs, but no movement yet. Gracie had occasional tingling in her feet today. Her progress will be a daily basis for the next few months. She is quite bruised, but no other injuries have been identified at this time.

“Jayleigh was diagnosed with an open tibia and fibula fracture in Nanticoke where she underwent surgery. They put an external fixator on and sent her back to the hospital. She has been diagnosed with a C7 fracture in her neck and is in a neck brace, which she will wear for six weeks. She also has an L3 and L4 fracture in her back, which is treatable with a back brace for about 12 weeks. She has a right collarbone fracture from the seat belt and a broken rib on the right side. She has a small pneumothorax on the left, which is the air between the lung and the chest wall, not in the lung. They’re just monitoring that because it’s not big enough for intervention right now, which is a blessing “Today she got a diagnosed with perforated bowel with free fluid in her lower abdomen, she had internal bleeding in her stomach area. They knew about it and they monitored it and today they were able to locate it and find out where it was. That surgery went great, got that in there and got the bleeding under control and got her on the mend. She went to the OR today for that. They did a bowel resection, which means they took a little bit out of it, nothing that has long term effects. While she was down there, the orthopedic decided to wash her leg one more time and manipulate the bones a bit for better alignment. She still has the external fixator in place and they put an NG tube in her nose to decompress her stomach. They will take it out tomorrow and this will allow her to eat.”

Reportedly, both girls are in a lot of pain and were hoping for a good night’s sleep. The friends of the family asked for continued prayer for the Pugh family. Ashley thanked everyone who prayed, supported, donated or helped in any way.

A donation page was set up on Thursday morning and fans can donate by clicking here.

Fightful continues to send our love, support and prayer to the Pugh family.
